With over 10 years experience as a therapist, and as a graduate of University of Maryland's Master's Degree in Social Work specializing in adult mental health, she is currently working as a private practitioner with a broad spectrum of clients. Among her areas of expertise are eating and weight related disorders as well as anxiety and depression. She completed a PhD in Health Counseling and has helped many people cope with chronic medical conditions.
She has over 25 years experience as an educator having served on the faculty of Georgetown University Medical Center and University of Maryland. In addition to being a prominent obesity specialist, Dr. Ramsey has presented at National conferences and to general audiences speaking on the topics of eating and weight related disorders and stress management.
Dr. Ramsey is an interactive, solution-focused therapist. Her therapeutic approach is to utilize various modalities including cognitive behavioral, emotionally focused, experiential and psychodynamic to help clients effectively address personal life challenges. She integrates these complementary methodologies and techniques to offer a highly personalized approach tailored to each client. With compassion and understanding, she works with each individual to help them build on their strengths and attain the personal growth they are committed to accomplishing.
